Superfast Broadband will boost UK economy and IP Telephony

Superfast Broadband and the delivery of next-generation data networks is one of the Governments "Big plans" and will help the economy return to growth, the Prime Minister has said.

David Cameron has hailed these "big plans" as a way to transform the UK's infrastructure, to remain global leaders in connectivity and as a means to inject the economy to a return to growth.

These measures will only benefit IP telephony and hosted VoIP offering superfast connectivity and delivering vast operational efficiencies.

Mr Cameron said: "This will be the year Britain sees the world and the world sees Britain."

Britain already has one of the highest broadband penetrations by percentage of population in the World, higher than South Korea, USA, Japan and Germany. But infrastructure could always be better, and with the advent of superfast broadband and 4G networks, other countries are beginning to overtake the UK.

"It must be the year we go for it - the year the coalition government I lead does everything it takes to get our country up to strength. The Prime Minister continued.

We have heard such announcements before, which we all get extremely interested about, where the government has stated its aim to deliver the best super-fast broadband network in Europe by 2015, but we have yet to hear specific targets. The Countryside alliance stated that work had not been started on delivering broadband infrastructure changes to promised remote areas of the UK.

We also posted recently about the £100 million designated for eight major cities in the UK to pitch for broadband investment. Plus £530 million of the BBC's licence fee has been sidelined for connectivity development.

Here at Voicenet Solutions we look forward to any superfast broadband development and infrastructure changes for the UK.
