The right time, the right place

Paralogic an IT Service company that is now doing pretty well as a VoIP reseller
Formed by merger, acquisition and organic growth in 2002, Paralogic has expanded rapidly as a competent specialist service and hardware maintenance provider for SMEs across the country ever since.
John Rose, New Business Sales Manager, Paralogic feels they really were in the right place at the right time.
“About 12 months ago we were approached by Gary Pryor of Voicenet Solutions the VoIP providers, whose offices are literally round the corner in Aylesbury, and he spoke about offering VoIP alongside our other network services.”
So had you thought about a possible transition into telecoms?
“We had originally been thinking about PBXs but that felt like a step backwards. Our aim is to provide a single source for a comprehensive range of network and internet services and VoIP was a natural evolution of that as it complemented our existing client base, making for an easy sell-in.”
According to John the development of their product was very much helped by Voicenet Solutions who made the sell-in even simpler.
“They offer an all in one VoIP package, called VNcomplete, so the customer doesn’t have to deal with multiple costs and bills and we can unify our sourcing. The commission structure is better too, there is a large initial sign-on fee and then recurring revenue throughout the term of agreement.”
Being able to take advantage of their existing client base was proved in a recent deal with a multi-site DIY merchants.
“We were chatting about their network needs when the client mentioned astronomical quotes he had received from a PBX supplier. We were able to massively under-cut those quotes and get his two sites and 50 odd seats up and running with a best of breed solution in no time.”
Paralogic is excited about the position they now occupy, and together with Voicenet Solutions, feels the future looks good and is definitely IP.
“It’s a pretty young market but we feel we already have a 2-3 year head-start over the major telecom providers. The only real issue is the knowledge of the market, but that is getting better all the time.”
