London Free WiFi Zone boost for Mobile VoIP

Mobile VoIP users in London have been given a huge boost with the prospect of free London WiFi offered by the mobile network O2.

Mobile operator O2 is launching Europe's largest free wi-fi zone across the boroughs of Westminster and Kensington and Chelsea later this year which will provide free internet to "millions" of London residents, tourists and visitors in central London.

With half a million people working in businesses across Westminster this is a major plus for productivity and communications and will only benefit the usage of Mobile VoIP in London'd political heartland.

A spokesperson for O2 said the deal, would have no cost to the taxpayer and will enable visitors to "make the most of what London has to offer".

This is great news for people who not only want to surf the Internet, but those who make calls on their Smartphones over internet protocol - or Mobile VoIP. This will mean that businesses in the Westminster area could make substantial savings on their mobile calls, with the knowledge that those calls could all be made over the internet.

Powered by equipment attached to lamp posts and other existing structures such as street furniture, O2 will start rolling out the wireless network across Westminster from January, initially being available in limited areas before being installed across Kensington and Chelsea.
